Treasurers report
by Daniel W. Phillips.  Our funds are low.  Fund raising efforts and donations are
required.

President’s report states that original agenda from the August meeting will be followed since there was no
quorum at the August meeting.  Aaron also issued a special thank you to
Lora Traveler and Marlene M.
Madell
for making the “Neighbor to Neighbor” General Membership meeting a great success with the
largest member turnout of The PRO General Membership or Parkmerced “Town” meetings held this year.

Aaron Goodman reminded the Board of Directors to review information about the Housing Element
Environmental Impact Report (EIR) at
www.sfgov.org.  There is a commercial zoning report (titled NC@20)
relating to commercial development by San Francisco State University (SFSU), Cambon Drive, and Crespi
Drive—Parkmerced’s “Vision”.  We need clarification of the impact of these competing commercial efforts.
Aaron also pointed out that Mayor Gavin Newsom is looking for consultants to assist The Planning
Department to speed up the Environment/ California Environmental Quality Act (EIR/CEQA).  Aaron also
made reference to the Parkmerced contribution of $10,000.00 for Newsom’s campaign for Governor.
Marlene Madell questioned if there were other contributions other business entities controlled by the
Parkmerced owners.  Aaron also noted that Stellar Management made a $5,000.00 donation to San
Francisco Heritage.

Aaron also mentioned a complaint he had made earlier to the Planning Department which issued a citation
to Parkmerced for on property signage and for violating rules pertaining to the Nineteenth Avenue
beautification.

Aaron also passed out a copy of a letter from disgruntled residents regarding editorial comments in the most
recent issue of “The PRO Insider” be edited for length.    Aaron questioned printing the entire memo.  Daniel
Phillips argued that in the interests of fairness, and the possibility of claims of libel, the letter be published in
its entirety, since the rebuttal letter was only two thirds the length of the original editorial.  Aaron has made
an offer of written proof to back up his assertions with a copy of an agenda not released to all tenants, and
this
may be run concurrently with the residents’ letter of complaint.  Daniel will get the residents’
consent to publish the memo. (
see attached copy)

Concern was also expressed about PRO being included in advertising for the block parties without PRO’s
consent.  Aaron maintains that PRO needs to give official consent in all future joint endeavors.
[Unfortunately Daniel did not remember until after the board meeting that PRO had given tacit consent
during a Joint meeting with Parkmerced Management. Bert Polacci announced that all the towers had been
covered, and issued an invitation to The Pro to participate.  This issue will so have to be readdressed at the
next Board of Directors meeting.]

PRO registered for the “Yard Sale” on September 20, 2009.  Volunteers will be needed.

The San Francisco Tenants union is Honoring Mitchell Omerberg and Polly Marshall September 19, 1009 at
558 Capp Street, San Francisco.  Aaron encouraged members to attend the ceremony, and to make
donations in Omerberg’s and Marshall’s names.

The next meeting of the Board of directors on October 20, 2009, 7 PM.  New location:  77 Cambon
Drive.

The Next General Membership Meeting and Election Meeting is October 24, 2009 at 2:00 PM at 77
Cambon Drive.

Meeting adjourned 9:40 PM

Respectively submitted,
