Meeting began:   
7:10 PM

Members Present: Jim Coppfer, Cathy Lentz, Earl E. Somers, Ralph Weddington, Aaron Goodman, Lora
Traveler, Daniel W. Phillips, Henry Tyldsley

Member Absent:  Annamarie Hewsom.

Members Excused: Jean Moore- Woods, Genevieve Callejo, and Robert Pender.

Treasures Report:
Since July 3, 2008 125 dollars in new memberships and renewals, also the yard sale
collectively brought 215 dollars to the PRO fund, and there was an additional 25 dollars from online
membership joining. Daniel W. Phillips passed out the bank statement to PRO Board members. Approval of

Old business:  
Cost for newsletter with four pages and in color came to a total of 374 dollars from P.S.
Print in Oakland. Aaron Goodman mentioned the Sloat Garden Center and Coupon which was printed in the
newsletter.  It is worth 15% off and he believes this is beneficial because it helps sales with a local business,
and plant purchasing is better for home environment and re-planting of existing plant types in Parkmerced.

Presidents Report:  Daniel W. Phillips and Jim Coppfer visited the Park LaBrea in Los Angeles.  They
gave their impressions of Park LaBrea with Jim feeling more positive towards Park LaBrea and Daniel
favoring Parkmerced.

October 15, 2008 meeting of the SFSU Task Force which Aaron Goodman and Laura Traveler attended
and reported on the issues on handout with letter drafted about painting curbs,  PDT/DPW, the need for
more recycling, damage to playgrounds, security cameras, Victory Gardens, pet limitations enforcement.  
Aaron also suggested having a joint effort initiative with the Creative Arts department on campus and with
Parkmerced (for theatre and concerts in Juan Batista Circle.)

Aaron Goodman will draft a memo (prior to the December 2, 2008 Board meeting) about pet issues in
Parkmerced; about weight size, how many in a household and temperament issues. This is to be addressed
in the joint meeting. Approval of motion is Seconded by Lora Traveler—Approved Unanimously.
Aaron Goodman distributed drafts of letters he is working on.

New business: Staffing for October 25 general membership meeting discussed with database printed only
for qualified memberships (2008) at 1:00 at 77 Cambon.

Aaron Goodman passed out documentation about Prop M which ends landlord harassment and he
encouraged others to activism.

Goodman
moved to give $50-100 dollars to donate to San Francisco Tenant Union in support of their work
on Prop M,  
seconded by Jim Coppfer—Approved Unanimously.

PRO is at the Farmers Market on Saturday, October 25, 2008. We must close at 12:30 to set up for the
General Membership meeting.

The Elections Committee
is meeting Wednesday October 22, 2008 to finalize the ballot for Saturday.

Aaron Goodman advised the Board regarding various tenants’ reactions to the asbestos abatement issues.  
It appears that Parkmerced is meeting most individual tenant’s requests.

Goodman attended the Land Use Meeting and the discussion of lobbyists, Rental Subsidy Program for low
income families, 19 Avenue cumulative Impact study, application to amend The District 7 as a priority
development plan, and Building Code Slope Protection Act, in regard to 137 Font, 50 Chumasero and 800
Brotherhood Way.

Lora Traveler
Moved to have PRO get radio time and tenant organization, seconded by Aaron
Goodman
—Approved Unanimously.  Lora will investigate sources for free on-air programs.

Henry Tyldsley advised that West Portal Merchants were unaware about the issue concerning the 17 bus
line.  He suggested that all board members get involved in distributing cards to local area merchants.

Jim Coppfer
moved that the PRO Board have a dinner between Thanksgiving and New Years, Spouses
and children are included.  
Seconded by Lora Traveler—Approved Unanimously.  Each member will pay
for their own dinner and drinks.
